Rossburn

Rossburn is an unincorporated urban community in the Rossburn Municipality within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held town status prior to January 1, 2015. It is located near Waywayseecappo First Nation and has approximately 550 people and 306 private dwellings. There is an elementary school and a collegiate school.

Created by joining the Rural Municipality of Rossburn and the Town of Rossburn in January 2015, Rossburn Municipality is proud to serve its combined ratepayers and welcomes visitors and residents to enjoy our beautiful community.

Rossburn is proud to be part of the Riding Mountain UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve (RMBR), one of 16 Biosphere Reserves in Canada, was designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1986.

It is a special area within which people are encouraged to demonstrate better approaches to conservation and sustainable resource use. The core area is the Riding Mountain National Park with its 3000 square km; 12 municipalities and 4 First Nations surrounding the Park adding another 12.000 square km to what makes the RMBR.
